Laboratory is one of the supporting facilities for student learning media, especially in the Exact Sciences Study Program. After a long construction starting in 2019 and completed by the end of 2023, the Rector of Riau Islamic University (UIR) Prof. Dr. H. Syafrinaldi, S.H., MCL inaugurated the Biotechnology Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture (FAPERTA).
The Rector symbolically cut the ribbon accompanied by the Chairman of Yayasan Lembaga Pendidikan (YLPI) Riau Prof. Dr. H. Nurman, S.Sos., M.Si and Dean of FAPERTA UIR Dr. Ir. H. Siti Zahra, MP, the activity took place on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.
The Dean of FAPERTA said “Thanks to the Rector and his staff for the realization of the construction of this magnificent FAPERTA laboratory, thank God because it was stopped due to the pandemic at that time, the construction can finally be resumed.”
The inauguration of the Biotechnology Laboratory was a special gift for FAPERTA UIR’s 46th Anniversary on November 13, 2023. The laboratory is equipped with supporting facilities, such as laboratory equipment and planting seeds to be developed.
“Labor is one of the important facilities for the Exact Study Program. With this Biotechnology Laboratory, hopefully it can be utilized as well as possible by lecturers, students, or government agencies, “said the Rector when giving a speech.
The establishment of laboratories in FAPERTA also refers to the rapid development of technology that makes scientific orientation more diverse, so it is necessary to update the laboratory which will be used by students, lecturers, and experts in the field of science. (hms/smh)
