Universitas Islam Riau (UIR) was founded on September 4, 1962, by the Islamic Education Foundation of Riau (YLPI Riau) with the mission to expand higher education rooted in Islamic values in Riau Province. Initially opening with a few faculties, UIR has grown into the largest private university in Riau, now comprising more than nine faculties and a postgraduate program. UIR remains committed to producing excellent graduates with strong Islamic character and contributing to the development of the region, the nation, and the wider community.

The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Islam Riau, was established in 1977 as one of the faculties committed to producing qualified human resources in the fields of agrotechnology, agribusiness, and aquaculture. Over the years, Faculty of Agriculture UIR has continuously advanced through education, research, and community service, while fostering collaborations with various national and international institutions. As an academic platform, Faculty of Agriculture UIR also serves as a center for hosting international conferences in agriculture, providing a scientific forum for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and research findings to promote the advancement of sustainable agriculture.

Kampung Patin XIII Koto Kampar is a leading tourism village in Kampar Regency, Riau, renowned as the center of catfish (patin) farming with the motto “no house without a pond.” Beyond being an aquaculture education hub, it also offers culinary experiences with various catfish products, local handicrafts, and scenic natural attractions such as Puncak Kompe and the Kampar reservoir. Kampung Patin stands as a real example of how local potential, creative economy, and sustainable tourism can grow together.
